Pride Pancakes

This weekend here in San Francisco we are celebrating Pride! I decided to combine some of my favorite things into this recipe: love, creativity, and of course sprinkles. I had a lot of fun making these rainbow pancakes! Hope you find this post uplifting and possibly sparks creativity.  But most of all remember #ChooseLove

Ingredients for pancakes

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 tablespoon bakers sugar
  • 3 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 1/4 cups of buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/3 cup butter melted (I used unsalted Plugra)
  • food coloring (Red, Blue, Yellow, & Green)

  1. In a large bowl, combine sugar, flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. In a separate medium bowl, beat together the buttermilk, eggs, and melted butter.
  2. Combine the wet mixture into the dry mixture using a fork to mix together until combined.
  3. Once all mixed together, grab 6 cups or bowls, divide the pancake batter into these 6 containers.
  4. Drop 1 drop of each color into the containers (you will need to drop 1/2 drop of red and 1/2 drop of yellow to make orange, 1/2 drop blue and 1/2 drop red to make purple) {total you should have red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple}
  5. Pour and scoop 1/2 cup of batter of each color cooking one color at a time. Once you get each color stack them in any order you choose!
  6. Enjoy!
